FLINDERS is at the head of the entrance to Western Port Bay. This
is an advantage in that no matter which way the wind is blowing you can
find a sheltered beach side picnic area.
There is a quieter, bay side beach, with pier and yacht club and stunning
views across the Bay to Phillip Island and the Nobbies.
On the sea side there is access through the golf club to the more rugged
ocean beach.
This beach is part of the National Park, the many rocky reefs provide
safe swimming and snorkelling , beachcombing and surfing opportunities.
The cliffs looking over the sea are a favourite launching place for parasailing
and hang glider enthusiasts. For those content to stay on the ground the
cliffs are a great vantage point to quietly contemplate the beauty of nature.
THE VILLAGE itself has a number of restaurants & cafes, antique
shops, clothing, gift shops, fine art & craft galleries, a hotel,
post office and a community hall. The award winning Flinders Hotel offers
casual and fine dining.
The pier is a popular fishing venue. Fresh Crayfish and mussels are
available locally in season. The naval gunnery school is open to the
public on the Saturday before Easter. The very popular Flinders Art Show is on the long
weekend in June.
A number of WALKING TRAILS in Flinders have been identified in
a booklet that is provided for guests.
SPORT VENUES include the famous
Flinders Golf Club. There is also
a Bowling Club and tennis courts which can be hired for public use.
Motor Cyclists and bike riders find the winding roads an enjoyable challenge.

(see Peninsula attractions ).
