| We enjoy our guests exploring our garden which has
many familiar plants as well as some rarer plants. Winding paths
around plant filled mounds lead to a central lawn and the gazebo
housing the outdoor spa.
Arbors are covered with roses, wisteria and jasmine. An espaliered apple tree and an espaliered camellia
are in small rooms off the main path.
There are many nooks and crannies to explore. |

A seat overlooking the lawn and garden is a great place to
enjoy a beverage of your choice and catches the sun in the colder months.
The choice of plants has ensured that there is colour
and interest all year around. In winter the hellebores are in
flower, and a pink luculia provides a spectacular display.
Spring perfumes are pervasive, daphnes, boronias, a jasmine, roses,
followed by the full blooms of summer.
The native borders are both a windbreak and encourage native
wildlife - birds, lizards and butterflies.
The garden makes a great backdrop for
celebrations.
(We can recommend an excellent marriage celebrant!)

A variety of Pots are placed around the garden, to
add colour and interest, to fill a gap and to provide a more
controlled environment for some special plants.
In autumn, 2004 we removed the 7 large cypress trees which were
along the nature strip. This allowed for more landscaping
opportunities and we look forward with anticipation to the growth of
the many new plants in this area. One of the stumps has been
kept and 'modified' as a feature.
Faye is only too happy to answer any plant questions you may
have.

We compost all of the
cuttings and prunings from the garden. Everything is shredded and we use a
three bin compost method - one bin is composting, one is being built
and one is being used. Our soil is heavy clay but is very
nutrient rich especially with the constant addition of compost.
There has been amazing growth..The house was completed in December 2000
although parts of the garden were started before that.
